One Human Race

Last night, I watched a documentary about the Ku Klux Klan‬. I think we all know that they are blatantly and quite proudly racist as hell, but seriously, looking deeper in, some of their ideologies are actually absurd.

As they marched the streets shouting “white power”, the ‪Black Panthers marched the streets chanting “black power” – both parties completely oblivious to the fact that they are all human beings: fighting violence with violence and fighting hate with hate. Nothing will ever be achieved this way, nothing! Except more hatred, more blindness and more division.

Every single day I look up to the sky and at the world around me, and I am in complete awe of our world and God’s beauty. He created everything and everyone equal, and I see you all, every single one of you as my family. One human race. One world. One country. One people.

I pray for the day that Martin’s dream comes true: when we all learn to look beyond our instant judgements of each other’s exteriors and look to the heart and soul that lies within. We are all interconnected, all of us. Imagine what we could achieve the day we all realise this?
