So with the new GDPR regulations that came into effect on 25th May 2018, I just want to make clear to you, my lovely readers, how your data is used on this website so we both know exactly where we stand. Please read below for more details…
I, Sabah Ismail, am the owner of www.sabah-ismail.com. I respect your privacy and any/all data collected on this site will be treated with the utmost confidence and security. I can be contacted at any time on firstname.lastname@example.org
Types of Data Collected
The types of personal data collected through this website or through third parties include: cookies, usage data, first name, last name, email address and website.
If you contact me through the contact form on my website, I will automatically receive an email in my inbox with the details you provided in order to send the message, such as your name and email address. I will only ever use the information provided through the website to reply to your message and for no other purposes.
In order to leave a comment under the blogposts on this website, you are prompted to enter your name, an email address and a website (if you have one). This data is collected to help detect spam and stays on a self-hosted WordPress account. You are able to delete your comments at any point on this blog. If the information provided is linked to a Gravatar account, the image you have added to your Gravatar account will also appear on this website alongside your comment.
To me, the data received keeps each user anonymous but for the purposes of providing me with useful insights into the audience that uses my website, the analytics tools collect information such as IP address, user agent, visiting URL, referring URL, timestamp of event, browser language and country code. This allows me to see how the user landed on my website, the type of browser they used and the country they are located in.
This information is used for no other purposes than to provide me with useful insights on my audience demographics in order for me to better understand my audience and to improve and optimise the content I create.
From time to time in my blogposts, I use embedded content from other websites such as YouTube, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. This content acts exactly as if you have visited that particular website to access the content.
If you have left a comment on this site, you have the right to request it be deleted or edited accordingly. You have the right to unsubscribe from my newsletter at any time through clicking the ‘unsubscribe’ button in my emails. You have the right to unfollow this blog on WordPress at any time. You have the right to request for me to destroy or erase any personal information I hold about you.
Please note that I reserve the right to distribute your personal data to the police or any third party organisations in the event of criminal activity or legal investigation.
